Photoshop techniques

The photographs for my magazine will be strongly manipulated to create a proffesional look in order to enhance modern day styling and composition with colours and props. Also to show my knowledge of Photoshop Techniques.

Technique 1
To create Black&White I went to Image>Adjustments>Black & White.

Technique 2

To Create Black&White with a colours showing through I had to make a copy of the original layer by going to Layers>Duplicate Layer.

I then had to make the new layer black&white by doing technique 1.

To make the colour show through i had to select the rubber tool and rub out the areas on the black and white copy that i wanted in colour. What this does is rub away the black and white layer, leaving the original colour from the background layer to show through.
