Studio Lighting Techniques

I researched lighting techniques and found some i would like to use, i also researched what they do for the model which supports why i want to use them.

The Butterfly/Clamshell lighting

It is a soft and "female" key light, directed straight to the model's face, which allows to idealize the skin to a maximum.
The key light is placed right above the eye level, the fill-in one - below the key light. Reflector can also be put from the side. A symmetrical shadow from the nose is formed, which should reach half of the length to the lips.

The Loop Lighting
Loop Lighting helps broaden the face and works very well with narrow faces with ruddy skin. The loop from the nose area should not touch the shadow area on the side of the face. It is the most flattering light scheme. At the same time, it creates a nice three-dimensional effect of model's face and body.

Broad Lighting

The shadow is minimized because it's appearing on the "narrow" side of the face. It's the most appropriate lighting type for normal and narrow faces. It's also acceptable to use it if the face isn't turned out of the camera.

Studio Equipment

This is the equipment i will be using in the studio to take my photographs. I want my photographs to be as professional as possible. I am familiar with this equipment as i do photography and very fond of it, i also enjoy using the equipment as it helps me create precision.

Questionnaire

Before creating my questionnaire i had to think about relavent questions to ask. I did this buy researching magazine consumption, looking at how much people spent on magazines and how long they would read them and why. This gives me a clear idea of what i would do to create my magazine based around the public's opinion on them. To achieve this i will look at my questionnaire results and look at how many people said they read magazines to keep up with celebrity fashion, 3 out of 7 people said this. This gives me a slight indication that making a hybrid magazine with music and fashion could be a successful idea when it comes to selling. Also if i was to sell my magazine i know it would be acceptable to price it at around £2 - £3 as all 7 people said that is what they roughly pay for the magazine they purchase.
In order to make my magazine appeal to readers i need to ensure all pictures are interesting as 4 out of 7 people said they look at all the pictures first before reading, therefore if i have my photographs interesting it will keep the reader engaged. When it comes to creating my main article, it has got to be appealing to the reader as most people said they buy magazines depending on how interesting the main article is.
